1. Wednesday, August 10 – Summer Bible Study “Reflecting God’s Love” Lesson 10
Both small groups and sanctuary teaching will start at 7:00 pm. Babysitting drop-off on Wednesday night starts at 6:45 pm with pickup by 8:20 pm. Tuesday night Bible Study at 7 pm at Bro Andrew & Sis Sandy Rassi’s house for those who babysit on Wed.
2. Rotating Church Potluck
Rotating potluck schedules have been emailed, if you didn't receive one or if you need a printed copy, please see Sis. Debbie Wells.
3. Saturday/Sunday August 13/14 Church Family Weekend – Testimony/Baptism
We have scheduled 4 weekends, one per quarter of the year, to be held for special Morton church events such as testimonies/baptisms, church presentations, etc. The third one this year will be held on August 13/14 weekend. We are currently planning for a testimony and baptism that weekend. Please make plans to be present. Committee 1 is providing a snack following the baptism, a signup sheet for workers is on the kitchen sign up table. For planning purposes, the fourth Church Family Weekend is October 22/23, please note this weekend on your calendars.
4. August 23 – First Benefit Dinner Practice
Lord willing, we plan to have another Bible Class Benefit Dinner on November 12 and 13, 2022. The first practice begins Tuesday, August 23 at 7:30 p.m. and will be held at the Fellowship Hall. Most practices are scheduled to last 1 ½ hours with the last four planned to be 2 hours. It is
helpful to have everyone there to enjoy and participate in as many practices as possible. If you are unable to be there for the entire practice, please come for whatever time you can. Please see the attachment for more information and the entire practice schedule.
5. Apostolic Christian Church of America - Archive
With the help of an archival science professor and one of her students, the Elders Teaching Resource (ETR)is establishing a professional-quality ACCA archive at the AC Bookstore building in Goodfield for the purpose of gathering, preserving, and presenting Apostolic Christian history for the benefit of the church. We are now ready to accept donations of any documentary materials concerning the ACCA or other churches stemming from the Froehlich tradition. We can accept originals or make copies of originals. Our interests include, but are not limited to:
-Congregational records (including church histories, sermons in print or audio form, birth/baptismal/wedding/funeral records, Sunday School records, business meeting records, special event handouts, and other)
- Personal correspondence, particularly if it includes commentary on church life. o Correspondence of elders, ministers, and founding members of congregations are of particular interest.
-Personal reminiscences that include commentary on church life, including mission work. o Local newspaper articles pertaining to the church.
-Photographs relevant to church life.
- Old personal, family, or church bibles or other books used in worship
-Oral histories (recordings of interviews of older members, either in print or audio form) o Anything else with the potential of helping us understand historic AC beliefs, practices, and experiences.
