Announcements

1.  Teaching Through Acts 1-8 in Afternoon Church Service
Starting Sunday, 9/26, the Morton Ministers will teach through the first third of the book of Acts during the afternoon church service. We will continue teaching through the book of Acts in 2022.
As we go through each chapter, we will be looking for key themes including:
Message of the Early Church
Actions of the Early Church
Power of the Holy Spirit in the Early Church

2. Sunday, October 3 – Family Hymn Sing
Please join us for a family hymn sing at 6:30 pm, Sunday, October 3. There will be no meal before the singing, but a light snack will be served afterwards.
The 3-year-old through third grade Sunday school classes and Mortonaires will be the special singing groups for the evening.  
We look forward to a time of fellowship and praise! 

3. Monday, October 4 – Red Cross Blood Drive -1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
The Red Cross is urging everyone to help overcome a severe blood shortage by donating, if able.
Masks are required. Enhanced disinfecting and social distancing will take place.
Volunteers are needed to greet and check-in donors. There is a form at the kitchen sign-up table.
Call Sis. Elaine Sollberger @ 266-9843 for scheduling a donation, volunteering, or questions.

4. Tuesday, October 5 – HarvestCall Projects – 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall
We plan to social distance around several comforters; therefore masks are encouraged but not required. Come and go as you please.

5. Sunday, October 17 – Kitchen Help Needed for Baptism Snack
Committee 1 will be providing a snack following the baptism on October 17th. Please sign up to help at the kitchen sign up table. 

6. Friday, October 8 - Loving Shepherd Ministries Benefit Dinner and Auction
LSM will be hosting a meal and charity auction for the vulnerable children of Haiti, Ethiopia, and the United States at the Five Points Washington.  
The meal and Silent Auction start at 5:30PM with the Live Auction starting at 6:30PM.
This year, we will have a special emphasis on helping children impacted by the Haiti earthquake. 
To donate a service, or brand-new item, please contact Sis. Janice Schick at 309-256-4956.  

7. 2022 Phone and Address Directory Updates
It is time to update our annual telephone and address directory with new adds or changes.
If you are currently listed with an email address in the directory, you will be receiving an email. You can simply reply to that email with changes.
All others, please direct new adds or changes to Sis Dannelle Zeller at info@mortonacchurch.org 
Those who have graduated from high school or in the Young Group should have their own entry.
You can include your married children and their spouses in your listing, if you so choose.
You can now list as many phone numbers or emails as needed.  
Church officers and committees are located in the back of the directory. If you are retiring from a position or starting a new one, please update us with that information as well.
The firm deadline for submitting changes for the printed directory is November 7.

8. Denomination-Wide Calendar Now Available on the ACCA Website
At this link: https://www.apostolicchristian.org/calendar you can view a calendar for national AC Church events such as LifePoints, ACCFS, HarvestCall, Gateway Woods, church conferences, etc.  
The calendar went live on 9/1 and is currently being populated. By clicking on an item in the calendar, you can access additional information about a specific event.
Consulting this calendar periodically may help minimize scheduling collisions.
