Announcements

1Sunday, November 13 – December 11 – 13th Annual Salvation Army Sock Drive
Thank you for blessing others with your faithfulness in supporting the annual sock drive. • Please bring new men’s, women’s, and children’s socks. There will be bins in the resource center.

2. Wednesday, November 16 – Annual Toy Drive to benefit the Salvation Army
Please bring your donations including new toys, games, and baby items to the Sunday School door where the kids from FourThirteens will collect your donations.

3. Sunday, December 4 – Chili Supper and Christmas Singing
Our chili supper will be at 5:30pm followed by a Christmas singing at church at 6:30pm in the sanctuary.
This year we will be sending a small group to elderly homes that have asked us to sing some Christmas Carols to them. If you or someone you know wants to have a small group sing to them, please contact Sis. Ashley Aberle 309-369-9434. The rest of the church will stay after the chili supper and sing Christmas carols at church in the sanctuary, and this will be livestreamed.
After many, many years of serving Chili to our church for the Christmas Caroling evening, Bro Mike and Sis Sue Zimmerman have decided that this is going to be their last year to oversee the Chili Supper. We would like for someone to work alongside them this year and takeover this position starting in December 2023. Please reach out to Bro Mike or Sis Sue if you would like more information or to take over this position.

4. December 11 – Sunday School Christmas Program
The Sunday School Christmas Program, titled “Prepare Him Room”, will be held December 11th, at 12pm during the afternoon church service. The students need to be in the Sunday School area by 11:45am. Come and watch our Sunday School as they tell the wonderful story of our Savior’s birth through song and scripture.

5. February 18- 24, 2023 – Mission Trip to CVE
The Morton church is organizing a work/fellowship team to go to Magdalena, Mexico to spend a week of fellowship and work at CVE. We will have the opportunity to spend time with our 2 Morton missionaries, Sister Kendra Neihouser and Sister Nicole Knobloch, along with other staff members and children. There are some work projects that can be done, yet the primary role is to fellowship and have a special time with our church family and friends that serve at CVE. There are young singles, young couples, and young families that would enjoy us doing life with them for a week. We are planning to leave on Saturday, February 18th and return Friday, February 24th. If you are interested in coming along, you will need to have an up-to-date passport. We do have funds to help with some of the costs of this trip. Just remember what the weather is like in Morton in February…it’s the perfect time to get away to the high desert of Magdalena! Please contact Bro. Jeff or Sis. Sue Neihouser if you have any questions and for more details
