Please drop off your donations including new toys, games, and baby items that evening to church.
2. November 14 – December 12 – 12th Annual Salvation Army Sock Drive
Please donate any new socks to the Sock Drive. There will be bins in the Resource Center (the room to the left on the men’s side as you go into the sanctuary) at church starting on Sunday, November 14 thru Sunday, December 12.
Please sort your socks into three categories; men's, women, and children. A warm pair of socks can warm a heart. Blessings to you for being a part of warming hearts.
3. November 20 – Young Group Mission Trip
On Saturday, November 20th, we will be taking 800 complete turkey dinners to a mission in Chicago called Mission of Our Lady of the Angels.
This is not just a Morton Young Group trip. Anyone that would like to go is welcome. We will be taking a bus and have room for about 55-60 people. We will be leaving the church at 5:30am and returning home around 4:30-5:00pm. There is no cost. Lunch will be provided.
If you questions, contact Bro Doug Huette (309) 202-6864 or Bro Billy Daniel (309) 696-5978.
Donations to cover the costs of the food being delivered, etc. can be made by mailing a check to the church or putting a check into the donation box Young Group slot (Memo line: Young Group – Turkey). You can also donate online at the Morton church website.
4. Volunteers Needed for HarvestCall Disaster Rebuilding in Lafayette, Louisiana
On 10/9/20 Hurricane Delta caused catastrophic damage throughout the area. They need our help to repair and rebuild their homes and lives. Homes will be re-roofed and repaired for underserved people who suffered loss and are unable to recover on their own. While construction is the obvious activity of this ministry, the primary goal is to share the love of Christ and proclaim the gospel.
40 volunteers are needed weekly 1/9/22 - 3/25/22. Skilled tradesmen AND unskilled workers are needed, as are those with a passion to share the gospel with those we serve.
Online registration is required for all team members and opens at noon Central time on Wednesday, November 17th at www.harvestcall.org
5. December 5 – Christmas Caroling and Chili Supper
Our chili supper will be first at 5:30pm followed by a Christmas singing at church at 6:30pm.
This year we will just be sending a small group to elderly homes that express interest. If you or someone you know wants to have a small group sing to them please contact Sis. Maria Leman 309-648-2457. The rest of the church will stay after the chili supper and sing Christmas carols at church in the sanctuary and this will be livestreamed.
6. Restmor Administration Transition
Bro. Mike Kaiser has been serving at Restmor in a dual role as both the Chief Financial Officer and Licensed Administrator since 2017. Bro. Jeremiah Psinas has been serving alongside him during that time as Chief Operating Officer.
As part of a phased retirement over the next several years, Bro. Mike will begin transferring some of the Administrator responsibilities to Bro. Jeremiah.
Effective January 1, Bro. Jeremiah will take on the role of Licensed Administrator and Bro. Mike will continue on as the Chief Financial Officer. While this is a change in designated titles, both brothers will continue to provide unified leadership as they seek to carry on the mission at Restmor.
Thank you for all of your ongoing prayers and support for the residents and staff at Restmor.
